Bairnsdale Medical Group has enabled a new feature to the “check in for an appointment” procedure. Patients who use smart phone technology can now use the hot doc app to check in for their appointment without having to report to reception first.
Of course, the check in kiosks located at each side of reception and reception staff, are also still available to perform this task.
So, how does the technology work?
Patients will need to download the Hotdoc app to their phones and a push notification will be sent prior to their appointment asking them to “tap here to check in”.
The feature will only work if the patient is in the clinic. When they arrive, they can check in using their phone.
The app will ask to use the patient’s location, and following confirmation of Surname, Date of Birth and Gender, will be Checked in for their appointment.
